The Guidance Counsellor is a member of the student services team. They work to support students, parents, and staff and can assist with:
- developing strategies to understand and cope with social, emotional, and behaviour needs
- work with students individually, in small groups, or in a classroom setting
- collaborate with teachers and support services to support student learning
- work with parents to support their child's learning needs, styles, and resources
There are a lot of things in life that can make us feel upset; things like:
- other kids picking on you
- having trouble learning
- losing someone you care about
- friends moving away
- someone you care about getting sick or hurt
- something happening that doesn't feel right
- changes in your family
